Wat wil je later worden? Vroeger schreef je brandweerman, prinses of schooljuffrouw in de vriendenboekjes. Tegenwoordig vind je daar game developer, social mediamanager of waarom niet, grafisch kunstenaar. Enter Joke Neyrinck en haar digitale hersenkronkels.
Joke Neyrinck (1982) studeerde grafisch ontwerp aan de Arteveldehogeschool in Gent. Na een paar jaar werken in de grafische wereld, snakte ze naar een persoonlijkere uitlaatklep. In 2014 won ze de Lumen Art wedstrijd en belandde haar werk in New York, Londen en Berlijn.

Joke's digital artwork was selected for the Lumenprize 2014

In early December 2014, Lumen Prize opened its second NYC show in the beautiful Auditorium on Broadway in partnership with Lumen’s NY host, the New York Institute of Technology. The show was curated by NYIT MA Fine Art students as part of NYIT Professor Ann Aptaker's course in Exhibition Design, incorporating a 250-seat cinema to screen the Lumen works as well as the exhibition space itself. The show also featured a seminar on Digital Art at the School of Visual Art in NYC, hosted by Jury Panel Member Bruce Wands which can be viewed here

I am a Belgian female artist & illustrator and I use a self-invented technique of automatic drawing to delve into the subconscious.
I doodle everywhere and every spare moment of my time. By quickly drawing, barring any conscious thought, I am giving as much room as possible to my imagination.
